摘要: Abstract This paper discusses the effect of residential energy prosuming on households' consumption behavior with objective finding evidence a ‘prosumer rebound effect’ consumption. Prosuming is partial self-consumption distributed production. We hypothesize that prosumer households are systematically different from consumer regard to housing situation and socio-economic characteristics. ensure an appropriate quasi-randomized comparison by using propensity score matching as our identification strategy. employ data nationwide online survey among homeowners in Germany. While show correlation between lower households, we find no significant difference prosumers non-prosumers comparable sample Instead, attributed more energy-efficient technical equipment thus purchasing behavior. Our results do not either negative or positive externalities behavior, therefore conclude there need for additional governmental measures, e.g. form taxation subsidies, address behavioral changes prosuming.
