摘要: In upper amphibolite-facies Skagit Gneiss, certain rocks, usually carrying hornblende, display post-kinematic breakdown of almandine-rich garnets to symplectite consisting plagioclase plus biotite and/or hornblende. Other garnets, widespread in hornblende-free schists and gneisses, remained stable the end metamorphic cycle. Analysed with coronas have 14 30 mol.% grandite. A set free such 6 9% grandite contain relatively more pyrope.
