摘要: Nesidiocoris tenuis Reuter (Heteroptera: Miridae) is an omnivorous mirid bug that preys on diverse generalist herbivorous arthropods. N. adults are attracted to volatiles from plants induced by their prey, such as tobacco cutworms (CCW) (Spodoptera litura larvae) and two-spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae). also induce when they infest plants. In this study, we focused olfactory responses of males females eggplants sesame conspecifics the same or different gender using a Y-tube olfactometer. Males were both species either females. The male preference was biased females, probably because response would facilitate mate-finding. Females only Mating occurs multiple times in species. Thus, indirectly affect mating Slight but significant qualitative quantitative differences detected between those conspecific males. might use gender-specific responses.
