摘要: Lactoferrin is a multifunctional immunoregulatory protein, stored in specific granules of neutrophil granulocytes, from which it released following cell activation. As activated neutrophils play crucial role the destruction synovial joints rheumatoid arthritis, we evaluated lactoferrin concentration fluid and sera 21 patients with arthritis 11 osteoarthritis. We also measured levels 12 healthy controls. was by solid-phase inhibition immunoassay. Median were significantly higher than osteoarthritis (P=0.0002). In contrast, no significant difference found between serum or compared normal concentrations (P=0.036). both correlation (P=0.51 andP=0.5, respectively). correlated granulocyte count (P<0.0001), but neither nor disease activity (P=0.32 andP=0.25, conclusion, reliable marker activation at sites inflammation synovitis, does not represent activity.
