摘要: The use of a single crystal gold bead electrode is demonstrated for characterization self-assembled monolayers (SAM)s formed on the surface expressing complete set face centered cubic (fcc) structures represented by stereographic projection. Simultaneous analysis many crystallographic orientations was accomplished through an in situ fluorescence microscopic imaging technique coupled with electrochemical measurements. SAMs were prepared from different classes molecules, which modified fluorescent tag enabling influence electrical potential and direct comparison structure adsorbed onto low index, vicinal chiral surfaces. assembly alkylthiol, Aib peptide DNA are studied as function interface revealing how organization these depend orientation, all one measurement. This approach allows simultaneous determination assembled whole fcc triangle can be mapped, intermolecular interactions well atomic arrangement substrate. Moreover, this method enables study Au atom that created analyzed, both under identical conditions, something challenging typical studies kind using individual electrodes. Also SAM containing two components thiol exchange. component shows remarkable differences coverage, strongly depends crystallography estimates exchange energetics. In addition, surfaces enable molecular adsorption symmetry related since more than imaged at same time. ability to observe contains triangles will facilitate multicomponent SAMs, identifying interesting further analysis.
