摘要: Lower eyelid retraction is a feared complication of blepharoplasty surgery with both functional and cosmetic consequences such as exposure keratopathy, irritated eyes, blurry vision, lateral canthal dystopia, round eye, sclera show. occurs when the removes too much tissue from lower eyelid, contracts scarring, or orbicularis oculi muscle tone becomes weakened by procedure. In many cases, patient does not develop symptoms until years after procedure, gravity causes midface to sag tear film inadequate. Depending on pathophysiological mechanism involved, surgical correction may involve horizontal tightening pre- subperiosteal lift, and/or posterior lamellar grafting. For most severe full thickness skin grafting necessary. The goal reconstruction in patients presenting restore position, function, appearance level that at least good, if better, than preblepharoplasty level.
