摘要: Abstract The direct capture process in the 17 O(p, γ) 18 F reaction has been used to determine reduced proton widths of states near threshold. observed upper limits on these are up factors 60 smaller than previously assumed values implying a corresponding reduction stellar rate for α) 14 N reaction. These results together with from previous work lead conclusion that CNO cycle is tricycling reactions O(p,γ) F(β + ν) 15 as third cycle. implications equilibrium abundances elements synthesized this discussed.
