摘要: There is an association between serum vitamin D level and diabetic polyneuropathy. Topical has been proposed for treatment of neuropathic pain in diabetics. The relationship the 25-hydroxyvitamin neuropathy never evaluated. objective study was to evaluate a quantitative qualitative This case -control conducted on outpatient basis. Twenty two (22) subjects were recruited from Diabetes Clinic at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. All had type-2 diabetes (male female, 50-80 years old). Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument (15 point questionnaire) used identify patients with (score > 7/15). 11 did not have designated control group. (“study group”) these underwent detailed evaluation by neurologist using 46-point Diabetic Scale (MDNS) nerve conduction studies. We measured concentrations liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS) chromatography all patients.  These values compared group, correlated score Patients polyneuropathy lower mean (21. 36 ng/ml SD of: 8.56) comparison controls (36.18 7.53). However, there no correlation severity requires further investigation possible larger number patients.   Key words: Serumvitamin D, polyneuropathy, neuropathy, D.
