摘要: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a slow-growing, organ-confined tumor usually accompanied with favorable overall prognosis. Current standard-of-care chemotherapy, and recently immunotherapies, for patients suffering from this disease may prolong survival improve quality of life, but they do not prevent recurrence thus are curative. Underlying reasons completely understood. Recent investigations support possible carcinogenic activity the human BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) in prostate. In commentary, we envisage development BKPyV-related therapeutic strategies to be beneficial individuals at risk developing PCa.
