摘要: Since 11 September 2001 and the anthrax attacks that followed in US, public policy concerns about security threats posed by biological weapons have increased significantly. With this has come an expansion of those activities civil society deemed as potential sites for applying controls. This paper examines assumptions implications national international efforts one such area: how a balance or integration can take place between openness civilian biomedical research through devising professional codes conduct scientists. Future attempts to establish must find way reconciling at least addressing dilemmatic tension-ridden issues appropriateness research; topic raises fundamental questions position science within society.
