摘要: TSETSE flies are a major constraint on animal production in about 10 million km2 of Africa through their transmission trypanosomiasis1. Up to 25 people at risk from human trypanosomiasis, or sleeping sickness2. Tsetse research has been concentrated the factors that control distribution and abundance these vectors means by which numbers can be reduced3. Eradication successes some countries insignificant compared with continental scale problem long-term reduction area infested tsetse negligible4. We report here mortality rates sites both West East Africa, size male female (related rate parental population) along north–south transect two species over northern half Cote d'lvoire, significantly correlated data meteorological satellites. This information could used predict (key determinants disease potential) very large areas continent produce maps high for African trypanosomiases and, implication, many other vector-borne diseases.
