摘要: PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use and timing computed tomography in treatment patients with acute left-sided diverticulitis. METHODS: We reviewed our four-year experience 47 diagnosis have evaluated benefits admissionvs. delayed diagnosis. RESULTS: Of patients, 17 were diagnosed on clinical grounds alone, treated, released. Thirty had their diagnoses diverticulitis either tomographic scan (26) or laparotomy (4). Eleven those 30 (36 percent) found normal scans, indicating inaccurate diagnosis, all who underwent pathologic Six abscesses, but only 2 identified at time admission. remaining four abscesses scans after failure medical therapy. Thirty-seven hospital days used by before scans. Analysis cost revealed that a for would less than expense admission just 11 CONCLUSION: Routine leads more accurate earlier identification complications, possible decreased costs.
