摘要: There is growing interest in population health research, which uses methods based on artificial intelligence. Such research draws a range of clinical and non-clinical data to make predictions about risks, such as identifying epidemics monitoring disease spread. Much this from social media the public domain or anonymous secondary therefore exempt ethics committee scrutiny. While ethical use regulation digital-based has been discussed, little attention given governance higher education institutions field health. essential how scholars decisions provides assurance that researchers are acting ethically. We propose process for institutions. The approach takes form review after completed, with particular focus role intelligence algorithms play augmenting decision-making. first layer could be national, open-science repositories open-source affiliated information developed during research. second would sector-specific validation processes by academics stakeholders wide expertise across disciplines. created an off-shoot already functioning national oversight body technology assessment organization. case studies good practice explore might operate.
