摘要: Abstract Introduction The number of parents agreeing to autopsy following stillbirth is declining, which has undermined clinicians’ ability assess causes intrauterine death and can impact counselling regarding recurrence. Post-mortem radiological imaging a potential alternative method investigating perinatal loss. aim this study was the role multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) in investigation stillbirth. Study design Following ethical approval written consent, were offered MDCT stillborn infant. performed with 3D reconstruction, images analysed for image quality, anthropomorphic measurements pathologic findings. Body part organ-specific performed; including head, chest abdominal circumferences, muscle liver mass also measured. Findings correlated obstetric history, post-mortem skeletal survey (plain radiography), formal autopsy. Results Fourteen third-trimester infants scanned. Image quality moderate excellent most body structures. CT better than plain radiography structures large solid organs demonstrated range pathologies renal vein thrombosis, mesenteric calcification hyperostosis that not seen on radiographs. did overlook findings provided some additional information. Conclusion This confirms feasibility third trimester acceptable examination demonstrate anatomic Initially, its value may be as an important adjunct conventional
