摘要: The carotid body is a highly vascularized organ designed to monitor oxygen levels. Reducing levels in blood results increased activity of the cells and reflex increases sympathetic nerve activity. A key contributor elevated neurogenic forms hypertension enhanced peripheral chemoreceptor Hypertension commonly occurs metabolic disorders, like obesity. Such diseases are serious global health problems. Yet, mechanisms contributing obesity not fully understood better understanding urgently required. In this review, we examine literature that suggests overactivity may also contribute disturbances. purine ATP an important chemical mediator influencing role purines explored. We will conclude with suggestion tonic be common denominator contributes dysfunction seen conditions which disease exists such as or insulin resistance induced by high caloric intake. Therapeutic treatment targeting bodies viable since translation clinic could more easily performed than expected via repurposing antagonists purinergic receptors currently clinical practice, use other minimally invasive techniques reduce developed for use.
