摘要: Previous research has shown that macro-level environmental features such as access to walking trails and recreational facilities are correlated with adolescent weight. Additionally, a handful of studies have documented relationships between micro-level features, the presence (or absence) television in bedroom, In this exploratory study we focus exclusively on environment by examining objects found within personal bedrooms relation occupant's Body Mass Index score (BMI). Participants were 234 early adolescents (eighth graders ninth graders) who lived both biological parents had their own private bedroom. Discriminant analyses used identify belonging below above average BMI using contained discriminating variables. Bedrooms more likely contain associated sedentary behavior (e.g., magazines, electronic games, dolls), whereas reflect past physical activity trophies, souvenirs, pictures places they visited). If causal connections micro-environmental variables can be established future longitudinal research, manipulations may affect BMI.
