摘要: Cephalomedullary (CM) nailing is widely used for the treatment of pertrochanteric hip fractures. Fixation failures with CM tend to occur in unstable fracture patterns often necessitating revision surgery. The purpose this study was compare complications and clinical outcomes primary arthroplasty We conducted an age-, sex-, type-matched case-controlled identified 29 patients who underwent (AO/OTA classification type 31A2.2/3 31.A3) at our institution. Their outcome compared a matched control group treated nail. There one major complication (3.4 %), whereas there were six (20.7 %) (P = 0.04). found no significant difference between groups regards blood loss, operative time, hospitalization time number discharged rehabilitation. Clinical measured Oxford score SF-12 final follow-up not significantly different groups. Arthroplasty viable option fractures elderly population. may offer lower re-operation rate as nailing.
