摘要: AIM: To investigate the changing pattern of β-catenin expression and its prognostic value in advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: Archival tumor samples were analyzed for using immunohistochemistry (IHC) 95 patients with CRC. RESULTS: Membranous was found normal epithelium. Almost 100% CRC cases showed membranous cytoplasmic expression, 55 (58%) nuclear expression. In univariate (Kaplan-Meier) survival analysis, only index (NI) a significant predictor disease-free (DFS) (P = 0.023; n 35), NI above median associated longer DFS (34.2 mo) than those below (15.5 0.045, ANOVA). The other indices not predictors DFS, none three tested (for membranous, cytoplasmic, or expression) predicted disease-specific (DSS). However, when dichotomized as positive negative former more favorable 0.041) DSS 0.046). CONCLUSION: Nuclear provides additional information predicting patient outcome CRC.
