摘要: Abstract Tetrathiafulvalenium (ttf•+) salts of the metallacarborane anions commo-[3,3′-M(1,2-C2B9H11)2]− (1, M Cr; 2, Fe; 3, Ni) were synthesized for a study their magnetic properties. They are complementary to charge-transfer based on decamethylmetallocenes previously studied by others. X-Ray crystallographic analysis revealed that molecular packing in 1 consists alternating layers ttf•+ radical cations and [Cr(C2B9H11)s2]− anions. In contrast, crystal structures 2 which isomorphous, comprise three-dimensional herring-bone networks corresponding anions, with stacked dimers occupying cavities network. The interplanar separation between fully eclipsed each dimer is 3.4 A, indicating significant bonding interactions cations. There otherw ise no intermolecular distances shorter than van der Waals contacts any 1–3. Variable-temperature susceptibility measurements performed title compounds down 6 K. data fit Curie-Weiss law systems containing non- interacting unpaired spins, small values θ (θ = − 2.5 K 1; 2.0 + 1.5 3).
