摘要: Abstract Model epoxy coatings on a steel substrate have been investigated whilst immersed in 3% NaCl solution using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The of these barrier remained high for very long time during exposure and superficial evaluation the Nyquist plots gave no indication any change. However, more accurate study matching to equivalent circuits containing constant phase element (CPE) has revealed changes dielectrical properties times. In this way it was possible detect localised loss adhesion start corrosion process at interface. These results compared with those an investigation dielectric sensor coated same coatings. With sensor, qualitatively similar response observed as panels separate water detected under coating after immersion. additional results, coating/steel system may best be explained terms areas different behaviour due formation products coating.
