摘要: Periodic changes in abundance, or population cycles, are common a variety of species and is one the most widely studied ecological phenomena. The strength of, synchrony between cycles can vary across time space understanding these patterns provide insight into mechanisms generating their variability within among species. Here, we used wavelet spectral analysis on range-wide dataset abundance for greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) to test regional differences temporal cyclicity. Overall, found that populations (11 15) were cyclic at some point 50-year series (1965–2015), but varied over both space. Several peripheral demonstrated amplitude dampening loss cyclicity following lows mid-1990s. Populations through core range Great Wyoming Basins had more consistent dynamics, period length appeared shorten from 10–12 6–8 years. In period, where was greatest overall, increased pairwise correlated with cycle intensity. Our work represents comprehensive assessment dynamics revealed substantial variation spatial trends populations.
