摘要: Abstract In this paper, we examine the recent history of Finnish forest policy from perspective competing discourses. The data consist 164 randomly selected forest-related articles five magazines and newspapers published in 1977, 1997, 2017. Qualitative content analysis quantitative multivariate methods (NMDS) were combined our mixed-method critical discourse analysis. Four discourses identified. hegemonic, utilitarian wood production emphasised effective use, but also included nature conservation as an explicit objective for use by 1990's. This turn into multi-objective forestry paradigm was initial victory subordinate, counteracting pro-nature discourse, quickly turned its own benefit. Despite this, pro expanded prominence between 1990's 2010's. hegemonic recreation which arose 1970's 1990's, positive experiences compatible with both discourse. small, non-timber products existed consistently through study period.
