摘要: [1] Using idealized models of the magnetosheath and magnetospheric magnetic fields, plasma densities, flow, we test for steady state viability processes mediating interaction between solar wind magnetosphere Saturn. The magnetopause is modeled as an asymmetric paraboloid with a standoff distance ∼25 RS. We where on surface large‒scale reconnection may be affected by either shear flow or diamagnetic drift due to pressure gradient across boundary. also onset Kelvin‒Helmholtz instability. find that, states considered, inhibited dawn flank large flows in this region. Additionally, most dusk equatorial region unstable, presence dense sheet weak fields side magnetopause. This study follow‒up previously published Jupiter's magnetosphere.
