PROCYON B: OUTSIDE THE IRON BOX

摘要: Procyon B is one of a select group white dwarf stars in visual binaries that are used to put stringent constraints on the fundamental physics stellar degeneracy. We present Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph observations this elusive dwarf. Our spectra cover 1800-10000 A and contain carbon Swan bands, Mg II, numerous iron features. therefore rare DQZ analysis spectrum yields an effective temperature 7740 ± 50 K radius 0.01234 0.00032 R☉. discuss implications these results observational support for mass-radius relation.
