摘要: This chapter summarizes how plant species composition and richness in the Andean montane forests of southern Ecuador are driven by environmental heterogeneity. Natural vegetation dynamics these highly diverse is dramatically affected current human land use practices with consequence an immense loss that most likely results a drastic deterioration ecosystem services on landscape level. Basic knowledge about functioning still scarce for region, study functional traits should receive increasing attention, since main attribute which plants influence thus services.
