摘要: AbstractA thorough characterization of all viscous flow properties relevant to steady simple shear was carried out for five liquid lubricants current interest tribology. Shear stresses were generated values significant concentrated contact lubrication. Two types non-Newtonian response observed: shear-thinning as a power-law fluid and near rate-independence. Functions parameters obtained the temperature pressure dependence viscosity time constant Carreau-Yasuda equation. Results are consistent with free volume kinetic theory, but directly contradict many assumptions currently utilized numerical simulation extracting rheological from measurements.
