摘要: SUMMARY Using the data from five epidemiological studies of total child population, traditional distinction between general reading backwardness (i.e. below average for age, regardless I.Q.) and specific retardation a disability in relative to child's age intellectual level) is put test. The concept measurement underachievement are discussed it shown that severe degrees occur at rate above predicted on statistical basis, suggesting “hump” lower end distribution. Reading differ significantly terms sex ratio, neurological disorder, pattern neuro-developmental deficits educational prognosis. It concluded valid, but evidence which shows this does not support view genetically distinct syndrome dyslexia.
