摘要: Campylobacter jejuni is the leading cause of bacterial foodborne diarrhoeal disease worldwide. Despite microaerophilic nature bacterium, C. can survive atmospheric oxygen conditions in environment. Bacteria that either within a host or environment like require variable responses to stresses associated with exposure different levels reactive species. The MarR-type transcriptional regulators RrpA and RrpB have recently been shown play role controlling both oxidative aerobic stress responses. Analysis 3,746 486 coli genome sequences showed whilst rrpA present over 99% strains, presence rrpB restricted appears correlate specific MLST clonal complexes (predominantly ST-21 ST-61). strains contrast lack rrpB. In rrpB+ gene located genomic region containing IF subtype type I Restriction-Modification (hsd) system, this rrpB- contains IAB hsd system not gene. exhibit greater resistance peroxide than strains. Inactivation resulted increased sensitivity but Mutation reduced killing Galleria mellonella larvae enhanced biofilm formation independent status. suggest adaptation hosts niches be linked complexes.
