Energy measurement in nonlinearly coupled nanomechanical modes

摘要: We report direct measurements of average vibration energy in a high frequency flexural resonance mode achieved via an-harmonic elastic coupling to fundamental nanomechanical resonator. The second order effect produces shift the read-out as function mean square excitation amplitude mode. measure shifts at lowest driving amplitudes, down noise floor experimental setup. With implementation existing ultra-sensitive amplifiers, reported technique will enable quantized transitions low-thermal occupation number resonators.
