摘要: A portable mass storage device (e.g., a hard disk drive) is shock-isolated at all times; (a) within the chassis of computer and (b) during its removal transport to location remote from chassis. The housed canister which removably mountable bracket attached each lateral side pair suitable elastomeric shock-isolators extend between respective one brackets adjacent sidewall so as mount it in spaced relation canister. Power supply (or any other electrical component) may be disabled/enabled automatically response relative separation/closing movement connectors. In this manner, "arcing" problems might occur with such removable unit are avoided fail-safe cost effective manner.
