Patients’ high acceptability of a future therapeutic HIV vaccine in France: a French paradox?

摘要: Background France is the European country with lowest level of confidence in vaccines. Measurement patients’ acceptability towards a future therapeutic HIV vaccine critically important. Thus, aim this study was to evaluate representative cohort French patients living HIV-AIDS (PLWHs). Methods This multicentre used quantitative and qualitative methods assess PLWHs’ opinions their potential acceptance vaccine. Cross-sectional on 220 HIV-1 infected outpatients, aged 18–75 years. Results The participants’ characteristics were similar those overall PLWH population. Responses from questionnaires showed high indices acceptance: mean score for Visual Analog Scale VAS 8.4 10, 92% agreed be vaccinated if became available. Acceptability depended expected vaccine, notably duration its effectiveness: 44% participants it effective life.
