摘要: Surface sediment samples were collected from Tanzanian major commercial ports and studied for the distribution behavior of tributyltin (TBT) compounds heavy metals. The content TBT in sediments ranged ND-3670 ng (Sn) g 1 dry wt (1780 ± 1720) (Mean SD) at Zanzibar ND-16700 (Sn)g (4080 7540) Dar es Salaam ports, respectively. Maximum levels detected inside both ports. Metabolic degradation butyltin (BTCs) showed that MBT + DBT > %, this may be attributed by warm ambient water intense sunlight tropical regions. A sequential extraction procedure was undertaken to provide detailed chemical characteristics metals sediments. revealed about 50 % Fe is immobile fraction (residual fraction) while other metals; Cd, Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Pb, Mn mostly found exchangeable or carbonate fractions thus can easily remobilized enter aquatic food chain. This paper provides basic information contamination marine ecosystem Tanzania. To our knowledge, first documentation Organotin (OTCs) environments East Africa suggests importance further OTCs studies sub-Saharan regions
