Myopisation: The refractive tendency in teenagers. Prevalence of myopia among young teenagers in Sweden

摘要: . Purpose: 1045 children between 12 and 13 years old were examined in a field study the Goteborg area (Sweden). The aim of this was to report prevalence refractive errors, with special attention myopia, since there are no previous reports Sweden about age group. Methods: examination included visual acuity testing refraction under cycloplegia. Results: We found myopia (≥−0.5D) 49.7% bilateral 39%. In whole population, 23.3% considered need glasses (≥−0.75D). also high (≥−5D) 2.5% children. Discussion: No statistically significant difference respect gender found. proportion needing is best indicator sample. results confirm that tendency towards myopisation teenage population similar other parts world.
