摘要: Abstract Background Antibiotic overuse has led to a global emergence of resistant bacteria, and children are among the frequent users. Most studies with broad-spectrum antibiotics show severe impact on resistome development patients. Although narrow-spectrum believed have less side-effects, their microbiome is mostly unknown. The aim this study was investigate antibiotic phenoxymethylpenicillin (Penicillin V) child treated for acute otitis media (OM). Methods Oral fecal samples were collected from one-year before (day 0) after 5 30) receiving Penicillin V against OM. Metagenomic sequencing data analysed determine taxonomic profiling, using Kraken Bracken software, resistance KMA in combination ResFinder database. Results In oral samples, 11 antimicrobial genes (ARGs), belonging four classes, identified at baseline. At day 5, abundance some ARGs increased, remained unchanged, while others disappeared. 30, most had returned baseline levels, or lower. we observed seven five only one gene being present 30 number increased 21 7 different classes. Conclusions remarkable indicating that even narrow-pectrum may important consequences selecting more microbiome.
