摘要: The present study sought to elucidate the geometry of left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) in patients with aortic stenosis and its effect on accuracy continuity equation-based valve area (AVA) estimation. Real-time 3-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (RT3D-TEE) provides high-resolution images LVOT stenosis. Thus, AVA is derived reliably equation. Forty who underwent 2-dimensional transthoracic (2D-TTE), (2D-TEE), RT3D-TEE were studied. In 2D-TTE 2D-TEE, areas calculated as π × (LVOT dimension/2) 2 . RT3D-TEE, ellipticity ([diameter anteroposterior axis]/[diameter medial-lateral axis]) evaluated by planimetry. then determined using planimetry equation method. shape was found be elliptical (ellipticity 0.80 ± 0.08). Accordingly, measured (median 3.7 cm , interquartile range 3.1 4.1) 2D-TEE 4.0) smaller than those 3D-TEE 4.6 3.9 5.3; p 0.79 1.3, 0.64 0.94) 0.76 0.62 0.95). Additionally, consistent conclusion, might allow more accurate evaluation 2D-TEE.
