摘要: In March 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) convened a consultation meeting to explore microenterprise as potential human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired syndrome (AIDS) prevention intervention. The impulse link with HIV/AIDS was driven by fact that poverty is significant factor contributing risk infection. Because increasingly high rates of HIV infection are occurring among women, particularly poor African American women in southern United States, we focused on an intervention population. international arena, income generated has contributed improving family community health outcomes. This article summarizes contributions made participants from diverse fields microenterprise, microfinance, women's studies, public health. ends recommendations and, implication, addressing other challenges, through development multifaceted approaches.
