摘要: Abstract Even though the plant uptake of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) has been reported, mechanisms remain unknown. This study aimed to provide new insights into CeO2 NPs through two objectives: (1) investigate whether dissolute before their and (2) determine in-planta speciation Ce. Bench scale experiments were conducted by growing radish in solutions containing 10 mg elemental Ce/L bulk particles, or ionic Transmission electron microscope inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis suggested that one pathway for was direct intact NPs. More importantly, our results confirmed part particulate transformed Ce on root surface they taken up plants. Ionic transport a primary mechanism accumulation shoots. further demonstrated enhanced dissolution due organic acids with lower molecular weight (e.g. succinic acid) exudates. Large particles composed high contents P detected roots treated only Ce, suggesting formation CePO4 particles. In summary, indicated as both dissolved ions. Inside tissues, is present cocktail NPs, salt CePO4) specific combination species tissue dependent.
