摘要: Diarrheal diseases are common in Djakarta Indonesia especially among infants and young children. A study has been made of possible bacterial parasitic causes outbreaks a group 156 crowded area the city. Before was complete 60 had left 30 died; diarrhea probably direct or indrect cause 13 deaths. Diarrhea associated with pathogenic Escherichia coli about 20% cases studied; other were Shigella less frequent rare below age 6 months; Salmonella insignificant; Giardia lamblia but not usually diarrhea; Entamoeba histolytica Isospora belli relatively rare.
