摘要: The degree of association between male and female prairie voles Microtus ochrogaster was assessed using radiotelemetry. Nine sets males females caught together in live traps were fitted with transmitters monitored for 3-4 days; an additional three radiotracked 10 days. Eleven the 12 male-female pairs remained during radiotracking period. areas used by each these overlapped greatly. Furthermore, pair cohabited a nesting burrow. On average 34.6% occasions when simultaneous readings taken female, they nest. These results contrast markedly field studies M. pennsylvanicus montanus which have revealed no nest cohabitation adult females. this study support laboratory evidence live-trapping data suggesting pair-bonding
