摘要: To assess the efficacy of potential substitutes for cocaine as a topical anesthetic before nasal intubation, authors performed double-blind study comparing hemodynamic effects blind nasotracheal intubation in 75 patients receiving one three sprays: 4% (C), mixture 3% lidocaine 0.25% phenylephrine (L-P), and alone (P). Three minutes after 0.5 ml solutions was sprayed into each nostril, anesthesia paralysis were induced with thiopental (5 mg/kg) followed by succinylcholine (1 mg/kg); immediately induction, mean arterial pressure (MAP) heart rate (HR) recorded. After accomplished, MAP HR recorded 5 min while maintained 70% N2O O2. In L-P, during decreased 2.3 +/- 2.2 mm Hg (mean SEM); this significantly different from increase 6.2 1.7 8.5 2.0 C P, respectively (P less than 0.005). Although all groups, decrease greater (9.6 1.4 beats/min) L-P those (3.1 1.6 or P (0.1 Changes similar P. There no significant difference incidence severity epistaxis among groups.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
