摘要: Many xenobiotic compounds with endocrine disrupting activity have been described since the late eighties. These are able to interact natural hormone systems and potentially induce deleterious effects in wildlife, notably piscine species. However, while characterization of disruptors “dioxin-like”, estrogenic or androgenic activities is relatively well established, little known about environmentally relevant pollutants that may act at thyroid system level. Iodothyronine deiodinases, key enzymes activation inactivation hormones, suggested as suitable biomarkers for metabolism disruption. The present article reviews biotic abiotic factors modulate deiodinases teleosts, a representative model organism vertebrates. Data show highly sensitive several physiological physical variables, so they should be taken into account establish basal deiodination patterns further understand responses under chemical exposure. Among compounds, brominated flame retardants postulated chemicals major concern because their similar structure shared hormones. More ambiguous results shown rest i.e. polychlorinated biphenyls, perfluorinated chemicals, pesticides, metals synthetic drugs, part due limited information available. different mechanisms action still remain unknown most those although hypothesis based on observed discussed. Future tasks also aim moving forward full activity.
