摘要: Purpose: The methodology we propose combines the immunohistochemical determination of oestrogen and progesterone receptors (ER PgR) with characterization oestradiol- progesterone-induced influence on cell proliferation in breast cancers order to characterize their steroid hormone sensitivity at both “static” “dynamic” level. Methods: ER PgR have been immunohistochemically quantified by means computer-assisted microscopy. Cell has determined tritiated thymidine autoradiography tumour samples maintained vitro as organotypic cultures. A series 14 patients was investigated. Results: Of under study, one an unequivocally “very ER-rich”/“very PgR-rich” phenotype totally failed exhibit any modification its level after oestradiol stimulation. Two cases definitively associated “ER-poor”/“PgR-poor” nevertheless responded noticeably dynamic stimulation progesterone. While our covers only, it suffices demonstrate limits characterizing cancer. Discussion: present work therefore presents approach test growth regulation human cancer hormones. clinical value should be further showing that hormone-induced modifications are actually response.
