摘要: The effect of Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIPping) treatments on porosity in the aluminium casting alloy A357 and stir-cast A357/15 vol % SiC particulate Metal Matrix Composite has been investigated. Densitometry image analysis have used to determine apparent percentage porosity. Four HIPping temperature profiles investigated (103 MPa pressure) mechanical testing carried out by single notch four point bending. bend strength was increased after relative as-received. optimum cycle involved for a short time semi-solid region followed sustain below solidus.
