摘要: The majority of remaining tropical forests exist as fragments embedded in a matrix agricultural production. Understanding the effects these landscapes on species dispersal is crucial development successful conservation planning. objective this study was to examine influence five landscape features within coffee agroecosystem (i.e., slope, elevation, streams, riparian effect, and tree cover) Heteromys desmarestianus goldmani gene flow. We expected that variables linked more intense management (e.g., low cover, effect) would reduce flow H. d. goldmani. This conducted 4 km × 2 km area growing region Soconusco Chiapas, Mexico. used 12 microsatellite markers calculate individual-based estimates measure dispersal. resistance surface modelling, using ResistanceGA (Peterman Methods Ecol Evol 9:1638–1647, 2018) identify if any analyzed explained patterns Our results showed population structure weak isolation-by-distance, found previously for by Otero Jimenez et al. (Conserv Genet 19:495–499, 2018). Slope cover were two could best explain patterns. More specifically, intermediate slopes represent lowest and, thus, have role promoting species. highlights potential integrating molecular data explore connectivity elusive species, such terrestrial small mammals. adds body literature genetics demonstrating rodent shows at scale resulting from factors management.
