摘要: The posterior parietal cortex (PPC) serves as an interface between sensory and motor cortices by integrating multisensory signals with motor-related information. Sensorimotor transformation of somatosensory is crucial for the generation updating body representations movement plans. Using retrograde transneuronal transfer rabies virus in combination a conventional tracer, we identified direct polysynaptic pathways to two areas, ventral lateral intraparietal area (LIPv) rostral part medial (MIP) macaque monkeys. In addition projections from areas 2v 3a, respectively, found that LIPv MIP receive disynaptic inputs dorsal column nuclei directly these via parallel channel. target minor neck muscle-related cuneate (Cu) external (ECu), 2v, likely carry kinesthetic/vestibular/optokinetic-related signals. contrast, receives major arm shoulder proprioceptive disynaptically Cu ECu, trisynaptically (via 3a) caudal portions nuclei. These findings have important implications understanding influence information on control operations PPC formation representations. They also contribute explain specific deficits guidance associated optic ataxia.
