摘要: The two plasma membrane domains of epithelial cells display unique protein and lipid compositions. general feature the polarity appears to be an enrichment glycosphingolipids on apical, phospholipid phosphatidylcholine, PC, basolateral surface. difference is maintained by tight junctions, zone cell-cell contacts that encircles apex each cell. This structure acts as a barrier diffusion in outer leaflet (van Meer, 1989b). differences composition must therefore reside leaflets apical domain. While compositional appear generated sorting newly synthesized lipids before they reach cell surface, along transcytotic route would also seem necessary prevent intermixing pathway.
