Viral Respiratory Infections of Adults in the Intensive Care Unit

摘要: Viral lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) are an underappreciated cause of critical illness in adults. Recent advances viral detection techniques over the past decade have demonstrated LRTIs associated with rates morbidity, mortality, and health care utilization comparable to those seen bacterial community acquired nosocomial pneumonias. In this review, we describe relationship between illness, as well discuss relevant clinical features management strategies for more prevalent pathogens.
