摘要: Aims: To examine how forest landscape structure (including composition and configuration features) affects bird species richness at the scale of 10 x km in Catalonia (NE Spain), considering different degrees specialization birds. Location: NE Spain. Methods: Bird presence data were obtained from Atlas Spanish Breeding Birds variables extracted Forest Map developed within Third National Inventory. The analyses carried out through multiple linear regressions multicollinearity spatial autocorrelation problems. Results: characteristics influenced more on specialist than generalist richness, explaining 62 % 52 total variation, respectively. area was most important factor, although also considerably favoured by tree diversity abundance coniferous forest. Forests with too closed canopy cover (equal or bigger 80 %) supported less species. effects weak compared to composition; only significant index mean circumscribing circle index, as a potential indicator naturalness landscapes. Conclusions: management should focus habitat availability features rather particular configuration, promoting an amalgam avoiding excessively canopy. However, especially for generalists, it is necessary consider other non-forest land types adequate conservation communities.
