摘要: Abstract Recent developments in the theory of rolling contact stresses are reviewed. They follow three main lines: 1. (1) elastic due to slip and friction at interface, 2. (2) pressures developed elasto-hydrodynamic lubricating films 3. (3) influence inelastic (visco-elastic or plastic) behaviour material solids. The dry solids is now an advanced state development. Studies lubricated deformation restricted two-dimensional problems cylinders. It has been possible however put forward a tentative theoretical load-carrying capacity for metal rollers, above which continuous permanent will take place. suggested that strength actual surfaces falls below limit non-homogeneity roughness surfaces. These effects present beyond scope but would well repay study.
