摘要: Ten-year survival rates are only rarely reported and frequently include a large proportion of censored data—that is, most the patients have not survived 10 years. We therefore selected in prospectively maintained, hospital-based tumor register who had been operated on for colorectal carcinoma (CRC) more than 10 years earlier were classified as long-term survivors. For 589 consecutive CRC underwent R0 resection period 1990–1998, we compared prognosis-relevant characteristics calculated rate function age, sex, location tumor, general state health, urgency operation, pT pN class. All observed until their death or at least after resection. Patients died other causes censored. Overall relative (the latter based tumor-related death) assessed. The 10-year survivors often female (not significant), younger (p < 0.001), good health undergone elective early-stage tumors (p < 0.001). In univariate analysis emergency impaired invasion beyond muscularis propria, lymph-node metastasis found to reduce survival. multivariate analysis, location, resection, pT, be statistically independent risk factors. Long-term freedom from recurrence, like-short-term, is influenced largely by factors that beneficially early recognition. patient’s age immaterial.
